Host Shabbat – Seminar 2025

Friday, July 18th – Saturday, July 19th

Parshat Pinchas

The Host Shabbat weekend during Ramah Seminar is a wonderful opportunity for chanichot/im to get to know Israelis in an informal manner and to make or renew personal connections with family and friends. We look forward to having our participants immerse themselves in an Israeli, Shabbat experience.

A reminder: Seminar staff do not accompany chanichim/ot on their Host Shabbat and therefore, cannot be responsible for decisions that participants make during this critical time outside of the Seminar framework. Additionally, all Ramah Seminar rules and regulations, including Ramah’s policy on drugs and alcohol and social norms are in effect during the Host Shabbat. Parents and hosts effectively take responsibility for the participants and they must agree to enforce Ramah Seminar’s behavior and security standards.

Please inform your hosts that all policies of the Ramah Seminar will be in effect during the Host Shabbat weekend (see the Statement on Procedures and Standards in the application). Anyone who is found in violation of this policy may be sent home at the discretion of the Ramah Israel staff.

Waiver for Visits to Unapproved Areas

Depending on the current security situation in the summer, parents will be asked to fill out a waiver should they wish for their child to visit a family who lives beyond the green line, north of Zichron Yaakov/Afula/Beit She’an, or within the Gaza Envelope. Waivers will be sent by the Seminar Office Manager / Family Liaison prior to Host Shabbat.
