Yael was born and raised in Israel. She brings with her a wealth of experience in the field of educational tourism, logistics, and finances. Yael has worked with major Jewish organizations including schools, synagogues, and Federations in a number of key managerial positions. Yael was a founding partner in the establishment of Israel’s first secular-religious summer camp, Tzav Pius. Yael is now a proud Jerusalemite, but does miss living by the sea!
Esther Ben-Yishai, our new Director of the Ramah Israel Institute, brings with her extensive experience in organizing meaningful Jewish, Israeli experiences. She previously led the REALITY Israel team at the Schusterman Foundation and served as a Program Director at Routes Travel. Originally from Montreal, Esther holds a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and is a certified Life Coach and Healer. She now lives in Jerusalem with her husband and four children, and is looking forward to creating unforgettable Ramah journeys together with her team.
Aliza holds a Master’s Degree in Education from Bank Street College of Education and taught for many years in Philadelphia’s Perelman Jewish Day School. Since making Aliyah in 2012, she has worked as an educational consultant and curriculum writer for The National Library of Israel and Behrman House Publishers. Aliza grew up attending Camp Solomon Schechter in Washington State, and since then, has worked in Ramah Poconos and other camps, as a senior educator and yoetzet/guidance counselor. Aliza began working with TRY in the fall of 2018. She lives in Jerusalem with her husband and four children.
Jonathan holds an MSW and is a graduate of Bryn Mawr Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. He has an extensive background in social work and education both in North America and in Israel. Jonathan served as the Academic Advisor at the Rothberg International School at Hebrew University, Jerusalem. Before becoming Seminar Director, he spent six years as the TRY Director.
Jonathan began his journey at Ramah Poconos as a camper and staff member. After moving to Israel, he spent seven summers as a yoetz/guidance counselor for Ramah Israel Seminar. Jonathan is married and lives in Jerusalem with his wife Roni, and sons – Yuval, Ori, and Noam.
